The Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding Between RentCo and Riara University

On Thursday, 18th February 2016 RentCo East Africa Limited and Riara University signed a memorandum of
understanding to provide scholarships and internship opportunities to students pursuing undergraduate programs in the Riara School of Business.
RentCo EA provides on and on balance financing through tailored and customized leasing products to both the private and the public sectors in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa.
During the ceremony, the Riara University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Robert Gateru, lauded the initiative and observed that the university was aggressively forging partnerships with the industry to foster students’ practical learning environment as a way of developing employability skills.
Mr. Robert Nyasimi, CEO RentCo EA, noted the timeliness of the partnership and challenged the university to offer short courses on asset leasing and financing, an area with few players in the markets, owing to the dearth of requisite skills.
The event was witnessed by Ms. Faith Mauta of RentCo EA, Prof. Faith Nguru, DVC Academic Affairs, Dr. John Muriithi, DVC Administration & Finance and Prof. Abel Kinoti, Dean, Riara School of Business.
The institutions committed to working together to promote practical learning through guest lectures, case studies and study visits among other areas.
